If you have to deal with sensitive teeth, you know that several things can cause discomfort. For example, if you have sensitive teeth, you could struggle with even letting a cool breeze hit your teeth. Similarly, you probably know that there are certain foods you should avoid, but do you know exactly what they are? Similarly, do you know what might cause your sensitivity or what you can do to address the issue?

In reality, the simplest thing to do is avoid foods that are too hot or too cold. Fortunately, if you simply avoid hot foods, or let your food cool down, you can usually avoid discomfort. Similarly, you should consider staying away from cold and frozen foods. Sugary foods, highly acidic foods, and spicy foods could all cause discomfort. More specifically, you may want to avoid foods and drinks issues such as apples, wine, pineapples, soft drinks and grapefruit.

Still, do you know what you can do to avoid or reverse sensitive teeth? If you visit our dentist once every six months, we can help you prevent—and if necessary, reverse—the issue. Similarly, we recommend brushing twice a day for two minutes at a time and to floss daily. You might also be able to fight off tooth sensitivity by using over-the-counter, desensitizing toothpaste.
